Yesterdays post by Kris Williams prompted me to have my very first go at image stacking to reduce noise. I was after a shot of comet Jacques and this was taken in my back garden at around 11.30 last night (with the inevitable sodium light pollution). As PS CS6 doesnt seem to allow Median Blending (the box is there but greyed out), I used a work around Mean Blending which I did manually using 10 of the images I shot. My word - what an impact! Ill definitely be adding this technique to my repertoire. Thanks for the inspiration Kris :-) Gear: D7000 with 17-55 mm lens at 55 mm, cropped in to the area of the comet Settings: 55 mm, f/2.8, ISO 6400, 15 seconds, 10 images stacked (Mean Blending)
