Yesterdays posting was a success; successful in pointing out the divide between those desiring clean water and air in Kewaunee County and those defending inadequate state regulations. The rural homeowner who submitted the photos was called a liar. Facebook was contacted three times to remove content that called for violence towards women, homophobic slurs and vulgar content. Citizen initiatives across Wisconsin have helped raised awareness of air and water quality issues locally, statewide and at the national level. University studies are being conducted and local ordinances and resolutions have passed at township, city and county level. Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future has written on our behalf and national interests are focused on the challenges we face. There are many forums for the agricultural community to lobby their views. Restore Kewaunee is meant to be a forum for those affected by the practices of agriculture to share experiences, ask questions, present concerns and offer opportunities to get involved. Thank you to all of those who participate quietly in the background through letter writing campaigns, calls to local officials, participation in the legislative process through DNR permit challenges, attendance at public comment meetings and social media. Thank you to the state and federal agencies who visit Restore Kewaunees website and blog - let it remind you that We Are Full.
