Yesterdays show at Viva NashVegas was a complete mind blower for me and Im not alone at that, as poor Peter Cooper had to reassemble his brain and follow Mike Loudermilk (son of that 357 Magnificent John D. Loudermilk ) after Mike set fire to his guitar without the aid of lighter fluid and a match, just his ten fingers. Its gonna take me some time to process the whole day that I was in the middle of, but just one of the highlights for me. that I will leave this world with, was spending some quality time listening to Octogenarian John D. Loudermilk hold forth... Here is Johnny D some years back telling a story about how he wrote a tune that I have been fooling around with since around 1962. If I had a nickel for every time I have played it since then , well I could take all of us to lunch. John D, like some of his peers Boudleaux Bryant, Roger Miller, is songwriters, songwriter and artistic human of the highest order. The groove he lays down here , is all any musician or songwriter needs to know about what makes music work or as Felix Cavelieri once asked DO YOU FEEL IT? to which the answer is YOU KNOW I DO... https://youtube/watch?v=rzUYozGmQV4
