Yesterdays training had its ups and downs. Some real confidence - TopicsExpress

Yesterdays training had its ups and downs. Some real confidence issues were found with having the bar overhead once the weight gets to around my bodyweight. A dramatic loss in speed and confidence can be seen from my 40kg to 50kg. My personal best is 75kg and the workout I had scheduled was 3x4 at 84kg. I was sure before lifting the bar from the rack at 80kg that I was able to do it. The moment I set it on my back I knew it wasnt going up. As much as I try to teach my athletes and clients to be confident with their moves, I just could not adjust myself to do the same. Came away from the bail not too badly hurt. Swollen knees from the impact of the ground and a tender neck but nothing I couldnt shake off. Immediately after the fail I put 60kg on my back and drilled it out for a while to ensure I wasnt too spooked out. It can be easy to make a mistake and then not go back to correct it. Finally I decided to check my Overhead Squat which was 77.5kg a couple of weeks back. Rolling on to my toes as per usual as my squats are very quad dominant but happy with how easy 90kg floats up from BTN. Absolutely certain Ive got 100kg in me but for now its time to work at 95% for some doubles. #Progress
