Yet again, Don has hand-picked outstanding musicians to entertain you this Friday and Saturday evening. Fridays troubadour-songcrafter is Tom Smith of Dedham, MA. Tom Smith’s songs are in turns humorous, touching, thought provoking, and inspiring. Deeply rooted in the old-school folk tradition, his timeless stories are told with a voice that is honest and sincere with melodies that you will remember forever. “If you want to hear what folk music is all about I’d highly recommend giving a closer listen to Mr. Tom Smith. His songs are about as good as they get. They make you want to gather a group of your closest friends and sit by the fire place sipping tea.” – Dan Cloutier – Musician, venue host. Dinner begins at 4:30; music at 7:30. Call 585-466-3399 for details. On Saturday we welcome Derek Knott to the Music Room. Dinner starts at 4:30; music at 7:30. Solo artist Derek Knotts songs are like little prayers- little secular prayers. Thats not to say there isnt plenty of soul and spirituality in his acoustically rooted music. Even the laid back tunes smile warmly and swing sweetly. -Rochesters City Newspaper After a stint touring with Grammy-winner Joanne Shenandoah and famous Texas fiddle player Eric Hokkanen, Knott opted for solo performance and started touring the northeast. People took notice. Judy Dyble, British folk legend and member of “Fairport Convention”, called his songs brilliant.” Others have remarked on his “subtle, incisive lyrics, soothing singing and guitar playing.”
