Yet another family struggling with this bullshit disease, hi son has T1D. He came right out and said it and I agree 100%. Within a few minutes of him posting this video on his page (with hundreds of thousands of followers) and asking for people to buy his song to donate the proceeds to JDRF people started posting cures and things they have heard that will reverse Type 1. Chia seeds, okra, cinnamon, diets, exercise you name it, it was suggested. I am sure they were all well intended and wanted to help his son, but they are also very misinformed. If okra or cinnamon or one of the videos on the internet claiming they had the secret to the cure actually worked or whatever we would have done it forever ago. This is a problem - when people hear diabetes of any kind they do not think, hey WE NEED A CURE, or that is very serious, they think we need a diet or an exercise plan and if we work hard enough we can overcome it. The misconceptions linked to the word diabetes are standing in the way of the support we need to push through the research and trials that will one day lead us to a cure.
