Yet another great day at Small Dog Camp! We began the day with tracking. Couper got off to a slow start, but once he got his nose going, he did a really nice job. Casey had a more difficult time getting going, but I have faith that they will both do well once I retire and concentrate on training them. Couper enjoyed running in agility class, and in our little agility fun match. He was comfortable with most of the contacts, even though he hadnt even seen them in months. Less sniffing today, so Id say were making progress. And then there was the Rally trial. Everyone - dogs and handlers - were noticeably more tired by the time we got started this afternoon. Couper was a totally silly boy, and didnt even come close to qualifying. Casey wasnt paying attention to me at all until about 2/3 of the way through the course. Then it was like a lightbulb came on, and he did a really nice job with the last bit, but certainly not enough to qualify. Tulsa was the next to the last dog in the ring. The wait was worth it!! She completed her WCRL Rally Level 1 title with a respectable score of 181!! I have promised her that she never, ever has to do Rally or obedience again. :-)
