Having a personal interest in ways of living close to the earth and in having a deep respect for the natural world, it was refreshing to read an account that was completely honest and written so clearly. I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in traditional ways of living life close to the earth and in accordance with the Celtic seasons, but also for anyone who has a deep respect for the earth we live on. The book covers all the months of the year and celebrations like Imbolc and Samhain. There are also practical guides for the reader such as making your own cheese and cider, which are easy to understand. The whole book feels like it is written with love. The beauty of the prose and accounts of daily life really draw you in. I personally loved the sense of wonder and enchantment that is portrayed though descriptions of practical ways of living coupled with a deep respect for the spiritual world.
