Yipee! Final Paving Layer of Walnut Ave. Segment Will Begin Monday! The City of New Braunfels is advising motorists to expect delays on Walnut Avenue between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., from Coll Street to IH-35, beginning Monday, September 15th. Ramming Paving Company is the contractor for the final phase of this project. The scope of work includes making point repairs in specific locations in this segment of Walnut Avenue and laying the final asphalt surface layer. Lane closures and lane shifts will occur, however single lane, two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the work period. Outside of the work hours listed here, traffic will shift back to all four lanes open in order to minimize the impact on rush hour traffic. Motorists are advised to use caution when negotiating this area. It is anticipated that the final pavement surfacing will be completed in approximately two weeks, weather and other factors permitting.
