Yknow, I think Im done as a sound guy. As a player, Im going to get real picky, but as a sound guy...done. This is the second sound gig where the playing was ok, but the band had no control over their stage volume. Sorry folks, but theres nothing I can do for you when the fader is right down to the bottom, well, off...and youre still blowing the doors off. Thats nothing I can fix....its all you! That said, there seems to be this need to gear up to a point where its not only overkill but youre not getting the benefit of the sweet tone because of bashing heads with the other sounds just giving er. Tonights gig wouldve been great had there been some dynamics in there....and maybe a little more listening instead of flat out blowing your load. Learn to use those fancy amps and study those boutique pedals...a little more time on that and a little less mooning the audience would probably go a long, long way...it mightve been funny in college, but youre getting older, and now it looks as stupid as the ratty beard and the hipster glasses...but thats another argument. So, yeah, done. Ill still do stuff for community theater, or some fun little gig somewhere, but these edgy young bands are quite frankly, assholes....even without the mooning. Not for being verbally abusive, but sonically abusive. Theyre all standing on the stage, but still a long way from understanding or making music.... This is when Im super duper happy to have a journeyman ticket....I really dont have to do this, and I wont...
