Yknow, this old ticker cant take many more surprises these days. After the bally-hoo instigated on my behalf on Wed, I got lucky enough to get snuck into the packed HIDEOUT for the glorious sounds of THE FLAT FIVE last night & didnt they serenade me from the stage & even bring out a birthday cake with candles. Are you kidding me?? Im headed to the Lyric Opera today for a dress rehearsal of Porgy & Bess --- If anyone there says Happy Birthday, Im a cooked goose.
