Yo, Facebook. I know Ive been absent for a few weeks, too busy enjoying my staycation to pay any attention to you, but Im coming back to talk about a movie I watched last night: Shawn Christensens Before I Disappear. By far the best film I saw in 2014, which says a lot because I watched it in 2015. Almost all of my favorite art is dark and luminous at the same time, because I love art that contains and represents hope and, really, thats what hope is. Its a light in the darkness, and the idea that in the direst of circumstances, theres a little fire burning inside of us, keeping our hearts alive. This film was all genuine emotion, art, superb acting, a fantastic soundtrack, and that little fire of hope. I loved it. Bravo, Shawn. So happy to see this from you. Youre a super talented renaissance man and I hope I still have the honor of owning the largest collection of your paintings in the world. =) Friends, do yourself a favor and watch this movie right now.
