So anyway 1st of all as much as it is fun to get dunked in ice water but the initial awareness that people around the world are trying to raise should be brought to the highlight. We see a lot of people posting videos accepting challenge and of course challenging other people, but how many of us really know what does ALS stands for? For what cause are we doing this Ice Bucket Challenge? So we wanted to give a little information on ALS before get dunked in ice water! Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrigs Disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed. You can check out this website for more info regarding ALS – alsa.org So I, Aravinden Sundararajoo, hereby would like to challenge: 1. The-Can-Do-All-Man Taseen Najmus Saqeeb 2.
