Yo yo yo! With regards to the post about seeking the Real in solitude (or in service)... this just cannily turned up on my profile. IT IS IMPERATIVE FOR OUR TIMES THAT THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN CONTEMPLATING, SERVE, AND THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN SERVING OR WANDERING, CONTEMPLATE THEIR SERVICE. Particularly, in the face of a fast-annihilating planet, we need to get off the perches of inner contemplations and wood-working, and establishing community and governance outside. Or this damn-damn beautiful planet will perish! (I was recently speaking with Buddhist friends about the spiritual meaning of the Tibet-China conflict, and suddenly the matter of the odd couple becomes clear to me: China is the servant, Tibet the contemplative, and the contemplative has deprived the servant of contemplations for which the servant is whacking the contemplative! Tibet is being punished for exactly what China says it is being punished for: for pondering too much, and not enough doing; for being a recluse, for not sharing the gifts. Hmm!)
