Yogis! During the month of February I will be doing a series of weekly interviews for my radio show The Conscious Revolution broadcasted on Soul Traveller Radio on the theme of A Personal Journey Into Yoga. I am looking to interview a person each week - 2 women and 2 men. I am interested in hearing the different perspectives between men and women as to how and why you started practicing yoga in the first instance and then why you decided to become a yoga teacher. And also unusual stories of teachers who came to yoga from a very different or unusual lifestyle before becoming a yoga teacher, for example Sat Jivan Singh Khalsa moved to New York to open a yoga studio and he was a lawyer moonlighting as a Kundalini yoga teacher, he set up shop in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, opening a school to share the teachings of the spiritual leader Yogi Bhajan. At that time, there were only two other yoga studios in the city. :) It was a time when “people confused yoga and yogurt. They were both brand new and nobody knew what either of them were.
