Yonkers NY: been at shelter 4 years Timeline Photos Monte has been in the Yonkers Shelter since 2009...He is 5 years old, mixed breed (maybe some hound?) about 50 pounds, but should weigh 60. Monte is very sad in the shelter....he is losing weight. This sweet boy has been here over 4 years already, and grows sadder with each passing day....how many more years is he going to have to wait for happiness? Monte is a little nervous around new people but after he gains your trust he d be your best friend Monte is an easy going dog who enjoys people and may be happier as the only dog, or there may be a female dog or two that he would like a playdate with...we are working on that. He is appropriate when passing other dogs, and mostly keeps to himself and focuses on his person rather than the passing dog. He is a sweetheart who loves to spend time with the ones he loves, but can also entertain himself. Monte is a great dog who has been here most of his life, it is time he went home.
