Yoruba dont desire to be the President or Prime Minister of - TopicsExpress

Yoruba dont desire to be the President or Prime Minister of Nigeria. But the Yoruba desire to have all the Yoruba speaking-people under one region called the Yoruba Federation. They want to control their wealth and resources, have regional armed forces, regional police, regional courts, and Yoruba public service among other functions. The desire of the Hausa-Fulani is to rule Nigeria under a unitary system. Ijaw have always desired the same thing as the Yoruba until Jonathans presidential ambition. Igbo just want to play a second fiddle. Jonathan is undermining the Yoruba simple desire for his presidential ambition. He wants to trade Yoruba demands for Regional Government, Fiscal Autonomy, Regional Regimental Armed Forces for Gambaris electoral support. I have spent considerable time here educating gullible Yoruba Youths on the atrocities of the Gambari against the Yoruba people. It would however be a better option to stick to a known evil than an impending Satan the devil. It will make absolutely no sense to support Jonathan over a Gambari if Jonathan can trade off the desire of his own people for a vote. Jonathan has agreed to trade off Regional Government, Fiscal Autonomy, Regional Regimental Armed Forces for Gambari votes. If APC presents a Yoruba as its presidential candidate and with the agreement between Jonathan and the Gambari, the APC candidate will lose to Jonathan. I would rather have the Yoruba resign to fate and not present any candidate for the presidential election in 2015, if Jonathan frustrates the Yoruba Agenda. But we might as well teach Jonathan and his Ijaw nation a bitter lesson and present a Gambari as the APC presidential candidate. With this reality, Jonathan might change his mind and allow for Regional Government, Fiscal Autonomy and Regional Regimental Armed Forces at the ongoing National Conference. There is no permanent friend but permanent interest. Yoruba interests remain Regional Government, Fiscal Autonomy, Regional Regimental Armed Forces, Regional Police, Differentiated Currency exchange, Regional Public Service.
