You CAN teach an old dog new tricks,... my teeth may be long, but my spirit is strong and I am reminded everyday that a new day,... is a good day. Sometimes the new day is a dirty diaper, and other times its a masterpiece of smiles and laughter, happy tears and cold beers, and long hugs. The learning curve is bent backwards but not broken, the vision is mostly clear but the windshield is still a muddy mess....so I stick my head out of the window and drive the best I can. The layers of love I experience and cherish and covet daily, cover my scars and help to heal old wounds left untended, bringing back the feelings I thought I may never feel again. Love. Understanding. Peace and Hope and Faith in humanity and spirit. Then, there glistening in the sun, another dirty diaper sheds yet more light on the reality that all the days may not be epic fantastic feely goody ones, yet to have another one is a beautiful thing...and, as Mr. Louis Armstrong sings.. I think to myself,,..what a wonderful world....
