You Can Almost See the Change Col 2:18-23, “Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. 20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.” The word change can go both ways for the better or for the worst. As believers we often see it among our highest esteemed leaders, singers, ministers, prophets, apostles, or whomever has ever seen a “come up” through the people of God. Often seen as a blessing but at what cost? Blessings cannot and will not be void of humility. Lack of understanding about money and it uses, pride and its power, lust and its temptations, in other words the flesh and the spirit will have some to become easy prey to the deceptions of this world and satan. They will be led to suffer the same temptations as Christ, but fail, as we already seen in doctrine, understanding, or teaching. Citizens that are feeling discouraged, downcast, beat-up, alone, or hungry often succumb to these temptations disguised as blessings. The difference is subtle but by trying the spirit by the spirit will reveal these inconsistencies and compromises. Once preaching God will supply all my needs according to his riches IN glory changes to God wants me to be rich or by you giving above my needs is honorable to God. From steward to hireling. Once singing a heartfelt prayer, a cry to God, a plea to help someone else, or a song of pure love to God changes to become, “What song will make people move, What is the best sound to produce, or you can be the next artist, entertainer, solo artist among the Christian greats. You can almost see the change. From choir stand to bandstand. Once prophesying the truth good and bad changes to become when the prophesy is only as good as the amount you paid to hear it. The line with the biggest payout has the best vague prophesies like God is about to bless you financially, or you are going to get a new job, or your marriage will get better. From prophesying to proph-a-lying. Many people attempt to purchase grace, favor, or mercy by believing that if they give regardless of need they will somehow be granted financial favor or a monetary windfall. That concept is not Biblical or kingdom based. Kingdom based giving is different and always heartfelt with no law, rule, or agenda attached to it, like I am waiting for God to bless me more because I blessed you. True change starts in the heart, true repentance starts in the mind, true citizens know that the promise is meant for them and abundant life is greater than what they can get materially.
