You Cant Argue With Grandma . . . . It was little Jerrys first day in school and he had been told by his mother to listen to the teacher and to do exactly as he was told. I shared with the class that at the beginning of each morning after calling roll and taken up their lunch money/count, we would begin each day with the pledge of allegiance. I instructed the class how to put their right hand over their heart and repeat after me, I pledge allegiance to the flag . . . Looking around the room, I noticed little Jerry with his hand over the right cheek of his bottom. I got rather close to him and told him he would not continue until he put his hand over his Heart! Little Jerry started to tear up and said, But it is over my heart. I know because when Grandma comes to visit us, she pats me here, indicating his bottom, and then she always says Bless your little heart, Jerry and my Grandmother goes to church every Sunday and she wouldnt lie.
