Hebrews 3:13 A word of encouragement. A pat on the back for a job well done. How do they make you feel? What about when you get a little hand written note in the mail that simply says, “thanks,” or even when a friend treats you to lunch? How about the “I love you” mom picture. Whenever these things happen to me, I feel as if I am on top of the world and believe I can accomplish anything! I love feeling appreciated. I imagine you do too! But there’s an enemy lurking around—set out to steal, kill and destroy the joy in your heart (John 10:10). Satan is the master of deceit. And he would love nothing more than to discourage you and tempt you to sin. His traps are customized to each individual, knowing their vulnerabilities and areas of weakness. But the verse for today gives us the remedy to fight against Satan’s scheming – encouragement. We are instructed to encourage one another so that sin cannot sabotage our hearts. Fighting Satan is not a one person job! We definitely need one another. My word of encouragement to you is this—know that you are not alone and that you are loved! The Father has a beautiful plan for you and those around you. Stay strong and pass along a word of encouragement to someone today! Prayer Dear Lord, Help me to be an encouragement to others. Open my eyes that I may see the women you bring into my path today that need a special touch from You. Amen.
