You May Get Wet, But Youll Make It On Tuesday South Western - TopicsExpress

You May Get Wet, But Youll Make It On Tuesday South Western Ontario was faced with a massive storm that brought with it high winds, heavy rain, hail and tornado warnings. It was pretty scary thinking of the potential of another power failure (aah.....ice storm nightmares), and especially thinking of my older 2 children walking home from school and my husband driving out of town for work. The threat of a storm seemed to last all day, but as quickly as the storm came, it was gone! Just look at these pictures taken on our front porch half an hour apart. It got me thinking about how each and every one of us go through storms in life. And while we are in the storm it feels like it will never end. Yet through it all, God is in full control. I can relate very well to the disciples in the story of Jesus and the disciples getting caught in a storm in the middle of the Sea of Galilee. The storm gets so bad at one point that the disciples wake Jesus up and ask Him Don’t You care if we drown?” In other words, Dont You care what were going through? Jesus listens to them and then speaks to the wind and the waves and all is calm. Then Jesus asks them this question: “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” Jesus knew the storm was coming when they boarded the boat. In fact, it was His idea that they sail to the other side. And yet He allowed them to go through the storm to show them and teach us that He is in control of everything - our lives, our families, our future. We may wonder why we dont always have smooth sailings, or why there are storms in our lives when all we want to do is serve Him and obey Him. Friends, Jesus did not promise smooth sailing, but He did promise us a safe passage to the other side. This may seem like a cliche, but it holds true in my life and I hope in yours - I would rather be in a storm with Jesus than anywhere else without Him. So, if you are in a storm of life, remember that Jesus will get you to the other side. He will not abandon you or let you down. You have His Word on it. After all He did say I will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Pastor Sabrina Reach Out
