You Speak It…You Eat It! The importance of watching what you say and speaking what you desire to have and NOT what you already are experiencing. We sometimes say “I’m just calling it like it is”, as if that is something good and valuable or to be desired. ANYONE can call it like it IS – God expects us to “call it as God’s Word says it is to be”. THIS takes faith – and THIS will see undesirable situations change. God created the universe and all that is in the natural world by the words of His mouth. The Words of God, spoken in the faith of God will produce the results of God! FOR EXAMPLE: Compare Numbers 14:2 and Numbers 14:28 We can see why the children of Israel died in the wilderness. Luke 6:45 Words can come up out of our spirit – not our mind and our thoughts – and that is why they produce spiritual results in our lives. Proverbs 18:21 Death and/or life are within the power of our mouth – what we say can produce either of these two results. Death words agree with the devil – Life words agree with God. Satan comes to ‘kill’ and Jesus came to bring life abundant. Proverbs 12:18 This is a prime example of ‘life and/or death’ with words. Proverbs 13:3 We can bring destruction upon ourselves by what we say and what we believe. Proverbs 21:23 Our words effect our soul – our mind, emotions and will. What we say can change and/or control what we are thinking and what we are feeling which will determine choices that we make. If you don’t like what you are seeing and experiencing in your life as yourself this question – “Am I speaking LIFE or DEATH in my life?” Then, ask yourself this question – “Am I speaking LIFE or DEATH into the lives of my family members and friends?” Ephesians 4:29, 31, 32 How we talk to each other shows our love (or lack of it), our faith (or lack of it) and our spiritual maturity (or lack of it). Proverbs 16:24,25 Our words can be ‘sweet’ or bitter – we can speak what WE think is right, or speak what the Word of God says – God is ALWAYS right, His way is always right and His words are always right! 1 Peter 3:10 Our words effect our life and can determine whether or not we enjoy our life. If you aren’t enjoying your life – double-check your words. WARNINGS: 1 Timothy 6:20-21 Profane and vain babbling – words that don’t agree with the Word of God and cause strife, fear, discouragement, or other ungodly emotions and thoughts. Profane: Ungodly and unholy (not necessarily evil or satanic) Vain: Negative, unproductive, empty. Titus 3:9 Certain things shouldn’t even be discussed – they are “unprofitable and vain” They don’t produce anything positive for the kingdom of God or in people’s lives. Proverbs 13:3 Life or destruction? The choice is our and our words are the deciding factors. GOOD NEWS: Psalm 141:3 God will help us, if we ask Him to and yield our will to agree with His will for us.
