You almost have to feel sorry for them? Maybe embarrassed? Nah, youre right - its pitiful. How does The StarPress feel about being slighted on a story like Ball State losing $8 million when they are spoon fed hundreds of headline stories? Twiddly dee and twiddly dumb picked up the story on Muncie Voice and tried to save face, but even the outgoing President, Jo Ann Gora, couldnt spin this one to cover up the simple fact - they hid from the public they got swindled out of $8 million. I repeat what weve said a hundred times now, never mind the fact theyve ignored trends in the flow of information and consumer demand, or ignore facts their advertising is grossly over priced, or even gloss over their paper has become more of a reporting outlet versus informative journalism, but you cannot ignore the trust factor. How can you trust a newspaper that cannot even sniff out an $8 million loss in their own back yard from the communities largest employer and public agency when they are given preferential scoops on every tidbit of information coming from the same organization? Bottom line: You cant. So, even if you acknowledged all the trends in the industry theyve ignored, and their exceptionally large egos for no apparent reason, you just cant trust a newspaper who cannot inform their readers, or selectively chooses what to write. thestarpress/article/20140606/NEWS01/140606004/
