You are Invited to the Milford & District Lions Open House. Bring a friend and come see what Lions do in your Community and how we do it. Oct 20, 7 pm at Milford Rec Hall. Please read attached notice Milford & District Lions Club 2288B Hwy #2 Milford, N.S. B0N 1Y0 October 8, 2014 Dear Community Resident Lions meet the needs of local communities and the world. Our 1.35 million members – who perform community service in 209 countries and geographic areas – are different in many ways, but share a core belief: community is what we make it. Milford & District Lions service the communities of Milford, Lantz, Dutch Settlement, Carroll’s Corner and Hardwoodlands and will be hosting an Open House this month. We cordially invite you to this event to learn more about the Lions Club and its work and to see if there is anything that you would like to see the Lions Club do in your community. “Our club gives members an opportunity to advance worthy causes, serve with friends and become leaders in the community. This club means a lot to our Lions, but it means so much more to the people we serve,” says Club President Debbie McGinley. The Open House will be held on October 20, 2014, 7 pm at the Milford Recreation Hall (downstairs in the former Nursery School). There will be snacks served after the session. Club President Debbie encourages you to come out and learn more about the club’s work, who we assist and how we get the funds to do our work. We are also looking for feedback from the community as to how we can serve you better. We want to share the great things we’re doing in the community, and let others know how they can help. The Lions’ motto is “We Serve”, and the Milford & District Lions Club has lived up to it. Since 1975 the club has provided the community with support to youth (Air Cadets, High School Bursaries), food banks, Poppy Fund, disasters, Milford Recreation Association, Xmas Angel Tree, medical equipment etc. To learn more about the information session, the Milford & District Lions Club or its service projects, contact Lion Brenda at [email protected] or call 758-3298. Lions Clubs International is the largest service club organization in the world. Since 1917, Lions clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired, championed youth initiatives and strengthened local communities through hands-on service and humanitarian projects.
