You are here: Home » City » BIA to issue visa on arrival to tourists from 11 countries Bangalore international Airport to issue visa on arrival to tourists from 11 countries Bangalore, Aug 16, 2013, DHNS: Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) on Friday said it has made operational the visa-on-arrival facility for visitors from 11 countries, valid for a maximum of 30 days. “In special cases, the same can be extended to 60 days,” an official press note issued here said. Visitors from Japan, Singapore, New Zealand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Luxembourg, Finland, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia will benefit from the facility. BIA will also provide separate visa desks, special seating arrangements and appropriate signage. Stating that visa will be issued at the immigration desk, the note said the facility will in the future have forex counters and an enclosure for photographing foreign nationals. Besides, the services of additional immigration officials will be made available to ease the entire process. “Visa on arrival shall be granted to foreign nationals visiting India on recreation, sightseeing, short duration medical treatment or casual business visit,” it said. However, it pointed out that a tourist must hold a valid passport with a minimum six months’ validity and must provide the following documents:Passport, two passport size photographs, photocopy of passport, hotel booking confirmation (if possible) and return ticket. A fee of $60 or an equivalent amount in Indian rupees per passenger (including children) will be charged for the grant of visa on arrival.
