You are invited to a “public talk” on the 24th of September 2014 – Goethe Center, 1-5 Fidel Castro St. – at 7:00pm “Renewable Energy in Schools” & do “Green Schools” matter ? From campus programs and curriculum to facilities that help students and parents experience sustainability in practice, schools have various opportunities to lead the way to a green future. Energy conservation in schools supports state, national and international efforts to reduce fossil fuel dependence and greenhouse gas emissions. Green schools provide models of sustainable behavior for students and communities – perhaps the first such experience for many. The facilities themselves become important tools for creating the next generation of green leaders. The talk, provided by NEXT Knowledge, will focus on a global “green school movement” in full swing and related opportunities for Namibia with increased efforts to adopt to greener surrounding educational environments and possibly a better integration of sustainable education towards environmental leadership within the national education system.
