You are invited to participate in UFV’s Indian Residential Schools Day of Learning on Wed, Sept 18. Please also note the important changes to your Fall 2013 academic schedule (exam dates, reading break) outlined below. Indian Residential Schools Day of Learning On Wed, Sept 18 we will be transforming classes so that UFV students, faculty, and staff can attend and participate in a variety of different events, to coincide with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission National Event in Vancouver. Students are encouraged to embrace an understanding of the history and legacy of the residential school experience, and learn how as a society we may move forward together to build awareness and reconciliation. Further information, including a schedule of events at all UFV campuses and links to resources on residential schools, will be available on the UFV Indian Residential School Day of Learning website at ufv.ca/indigenous/day-of-learning/ Fall 2013 academic schedule changes 1. Exam dates are now scheduled on Dec 5–17, 2013 (previously, exams were scheduled to be Dec 4–16, 2013). 2. Tues, Dec 3, 2013, is now an optional “Wednesday make-up day” for classes cancelled on Wed, Sept 18, 2013. Each instructor has the freedom to schedule a class on this day as desired. 3. Wed, Dec 4, 2013, is reading break, with no classes or exams scheduled. We look forward to your participation on Wed, Sept 18.
