Bring your art or image (digital or hard copy) for a shirt you would like to print and learn the process. No charge for your first shirt. Class and Workshop Information Falun Gong Barbara Barnes offers the Falun Gong instruction. Falun Dafa also known as Falun Gong is a traditional Chinese self-cultivation practice that improves mental and physical wellness through a series of easy-to-learn exercises, meditation, and the development of ones heart-mind nature (xinxing). The practice is based on the universal principals of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance. This ancient practice, originally taught in private only, was first introduced to the public in1992 by Mr. Li Hongzhi in China. Since that time, millions of practitioners have reported dramatic improvements in health and a deepened spiritual awaking. Creative Writing Suzanne Bronson, Author and Contributing writer for Grand Valley Magazine, The Maverick and Colorado Life Magazine will offer a workshop on Saturday, September 13th on both poetry and writing articles. Pen and Ink Drawing Jessica Coulter is offering 2 Pen and Ink workshops in September. Pen and ink drawing is one of the most visually varied art practices in history. The practice of drawing with ink unites artists through the use of many of the same ink drawing techniques including hatching, crosshatching, wash, and various forms of line. We use the light tables and Jessica teaches a broad range of stippling and cross hatching techniques. Woodcarving Thomas Kelley is currently providing the woodcarving workshop and has a brand new project for beginners to learn and practice skills. For the more advanced carvers Tom has something for you too. Woodcarving is the first and third Wednesday each month. Basketry Karen Sublett will offer basketry for 2, 2 hour sessions in September. Students can choose a patter - either a small one you can finish in class or something bigger that can be finished over the 2 classes and in between. Letterpress Eli Hall will be offering regular monthly letterpress workshops starting September 19th. This is your chance to learn the printing and typesetting techniques in the back print room where everyone says wow or to practice skills you already have. Basic Sculpture In this new workshop Wendy Hoffman will help you explore a variety of methods of sculpture and offer introductory methods of creating armatures, designing and other processes. Its a great place to start if you have never sculpted but those with experience will enjoy it too. Basic Computer Daryl Hunt will teach whatever it is you need. He can offer anything from this is a mouse to more advanced software use and internet skills. Acrylic Painting In this class we paint on anything but canvas. We do one-stroke painting and tole painting techniques as well as basic painting skills on a variety of items including saw-blades and gourds. We have something for everyone from beginner to expert. Music We currently offer several weekly classes in Guitar, with Alan Beel, Bass with Daryl Hunt, Mandolin with Wally Jackson and Drums with Chris Kimberlin. Other instruments are available by request. Jewelry Making Claudia offered button bracelets in the September class and on October 8th we will be making memory wire bracelets. Drawing September will be the final month, for now, of portrait drawing. In October we will start back with basic drawing and meditative drawing. Acupuncture Because of the Labor Day holiday we have only one September session of Community Acupuncture on Tuesday September 16th, 2 pm - 4 pm. all dates and times can be found on the September Calendar
