Presented by Dr Melanie Kloetzel (Department of Dance, University of Calgary) Thursday 13 November from 4.45 - 6.15 pm on THE STAGE of THE HOUSE Abstract: In this seminar, Melanie will examine the dance festival circuit’s recent fascination with site-specific performance as well as the consequences of such fascination. In particular, she will look at what is at stake in creating ‘site-adaptive’ work for touring purposes. To facilitate the discussion, Melanie will present her solo piece, Room, and consider what it says about site, adaptation, and performance in the shadow of climate change.
