You can carry on the legacy of the children of #Peshawar. None of the children in #Peshawar who were ruthlessly massacred by deluded murderers will ever get to follow their dreams in this world. But you can for them, in honor and memory of them. Think about what a little child would have wanted to tell their parents to make them feel better when they were having a bad day. Or how they might have wanted to just hang out with their siblings and be silly for fun. Or what they might have done for a friend who forgot their lunch. Or how they might have wanted to make money just to give it to those who needed it more. Or how they dreamed of doing well in school to become a doctor to help the sick, or a journalist to speak truth or a therapist to help children recover from experiencing incredible trauma. One of the children who survived, 12 year old Ali, described how he was in shock and so afraid when the murderers entered and started shooting at his classmates. His friend Irfan told him, Lay still, Ali, lay very still, to pretend they were were dead. Ali lay there for hours, his friend unmoving. He thought Irfan was continuing to pretend, but he had actually been killed :( Irfans quick thinking and instruction to Ali was a means through which his life was saved, while Irfans own was sacrificed. Let us remember heroes like Irfan and survivors like Ali. Let us remember children in Peshawar, as well as children who have been massacred or hurt all over the world- whether by terrorists or drone strikes, by individual criminals or state sponsored actions, whether because of domestic violence or human trafficking, or any other reason our children suffer. Dont let their lives only be stories you know because of the way they were cut short. Instead, think of one thing you think they may have wanted to do, even if you didnt know them, and pass their deeds forward. Our hearts bleed, our eyes weep, but let their lives not have gone in vain. Be good to others in their memory. Let their legacy carry on through your actions, sincerely for the love of God. #prayforpeshawar
