You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation ~ Plato As you may already know, Sam and I are on a 30,000+ mile road trip through North America. The main objective of the tour is to raise money to replace our 1988 Ford Festiva. But this stop is different. All the proceedings from our class Sunday May 18th in Hampton VA, will benefit Noahs Flight Scholarship. We met Noah and Amber (his wife) in Nov 2012. They were on a trip to Key West and we happen to host a jam in the park as prelude to a weekend workshop. That day they invited us to their new yoga studio in Hampton: Tribal Yoga. In June last year we spent 4 days playing! Slacklining, acrobatics, handstands and even a little bit of Thai Massage. Noah, Amber and Naveed (their newborn baby) received us at their home with opened arms! We spoke about their amazing careers in NASA, their new studio and their new adventure as parents. After the workshop we joined Noah at a party. He had a background in cheer-leading. So we spent the better part of that night playing in the pool until security asked us to stop! We feel in love with Noah and Amber! We hoped to see them year, after year, after year! A little over a month after that, Noah died on a plane crash. ... ... ... (deep sight) ... ... ... In reality, I have been trying to write about Noah, his sudden death and the impact of his life on Sam and I. To explain why we are donating the proceeding from our class in Hampton to his Flight Scholarship and what this man meant to us both. But I just cant find the right words. I simply cannot find the words to express how much Noah meant to both of us. Mainly because we met him very briefly... maybe for 5 days total? In those 5 days we saw the greatness in him. His passion for life, yoga, his wife, his newborn child, his work, his studio and community. We played, we laughed, we tumbled in a pool... We took for granted that he would be in our life forever. I remember reading about Noahs plane crash, feeling my heart break and empathy towards Amber and his son flooding my whole body. The thing that I remember the most about Noah is that he was a happy man. That he knew what made him happy, the woman he loved, his role as a loving parent and his passion towards yoga. All we can do is honor his life with funding another of his passions: flying! I can only hope that through the efforts of funding this scholarship other people get to experience Noahs greatness year after year! So tell your friends, get the carpool going, come play with us and raise a lot of money! We want to put a huge smile in Ambers face and help her spread the love for Noahs passion.
