You can learn a lot from a bubble Hold on to the magic of the holidays on Saturday, December 27, at the South Shore Natural Science Center, as ‘bubbleologist’ Keith Michael Johnson enchants his audience with the art and science of soap bubbles. Featured on Discovery Channels Time Warp, and National Geographic TV, Johnson uses bubbles—large and small—to explain liquids, solids and gasses, geometry, tension and pressure, while creating beautiful bubble sculptures. From bubbles as big as bathtubs to fog-filled spinning geometric shapes, Johnson will have you roaring with laughter. He’ll also share the secrets of how to continue the experiments on your own at home. Three separate, 60-minute Bubbleology shows are scheduled at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. or 3 p.m.; tickets for each show are $7 for full members, $10 for nonmembers. The program is suitable for ages 3 and up; as space is limited, strollers cannot be accommodated. Call 781-659-2559 to purchase tickets. The SSNSC, located on Jacobs Lane (off Route 123) in Norwell, is a non-profit environmental education center serving the south shore and beyond.
