You can never forget the abuse, but one learns to live with it. Education is the key to becoming empowered. Abuse knows NO boundaries. Economic, cultural, age it matters not. After 20 years of being educated, I still look and see the signs of an abuser in an individual. I still am weary of the ringing of the phone, someone walking behind, demanding voice. There are red flags that I can spot right away. Even men in my age group, who havent gotten help, still have abusive behaviors. No one person has the right to hit another, or restrict their right to a life they so choose!
