You cannot justify your choice of action by reference to your history - you can explain a pull on your steering but not the direction you steer. You can choose violence as a response to violence you have experienced or are experiencing but you cannot justify violence because you are the victim of violence. In the unbroken chain of confused inheritance the violence is revisited repeatedly forwards - and only temporary respite is available in that transfer. To be free you have to stand still like a domino glued upright in the tumbling pattern - you still get whats coming from the past - it hits and it leans, but you get to look out ahead and see The Standing - your people.
