You cant make the word conform to your life. You cant make the word justify evil deeds and an evil lifestyle by changing it around to say what you want it to say. People attempt to justify their lifestyles all the day long using scripture. Mostly these justifications come from Pauls writings. Scripture such as All things are lawful, but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful, but Im put under the power of none are scriptures that get people into trouble. They forget the context of the message and forget the writings of other disciples who warned that some of Pauls writings were hard and that some would take those scriptures, latch onto them, and take them to their own destruction. Instead of making the word conform to your life you must instead conform your life to the word. The word is the mold. Jesus is the word made manifest in the flesh. Jesus was perfect as God was perfect. The word is perfect because God is perfect also, and the word are Gods words. In that, Jesus is the mold. Be molded by the perfect mold. Allow the potter to place you on the wheel and mold you into what He wants you to be. Press yourself into the word. Change your life to fit what the word says. If you take an imperfect mold and attempt to make something out of the mold you will make another imperfect copy. You can make a flower out of clay by hand, but if it is imperfect, and you make a mold out of it, it too will give you imperfect flowers. But if the mold is perfect, then also shall the molded flowers be perfect.
