You crazy, silly, funny, wacky clown.....wait, clowns have an evil - TopicsExpress

You crazy, silly, funny, wacky clown.....wait, clowns have an evil connotation these days. (Damn you It, Gacy, and anything or anyone else that ruined clowns for most people!) Lets go with....crazy, silly, funny, wacky friends who act playfully. Yeah, that should work. And it aptly describes everyone at West Coast Wednesdays (WCW) yesterday evening. From instructors to attendees, non-dancers to out-of-town guests, smiles and silliness abounded as the rain let up and we took advantage of some pleasantly cooler weather to do out dance thing. If you werent there, you only missed: - Sammy and Heathers energy-filled and enthusiastically-taught (and received) lessons. I had someone ask if they do private lessons. Thats a pretty good compliment for the duo and its only going to get better the more they teach. Wonderful job, you two. - April bringing back some new tunes from Boogie by the Bay. The dance floor was filled. Thats the benchmark for success as a DJ and April did that in spades last night. - Reisa (if I spelled that incorrectly, I apologize) bringing an uber-rich and uber-tasty red velvet birthday cake to share with the West Coast Swing (WCS) crowd. So much for burning off calories--but oh, so worth it. - Benny, Brian, and Rob helping with setup and take down. The crew came through with muscle and time and ensured another smooth, flawless evening. (Insert big manly hug here.) By, the way, ask Benny about his--what I dub--the carry the bride across the threshold and sit her on a dancers lap move. Its gold. :) - The smiling, energetic, giggling faces of: Tony, Rosa, Carmen, Kristy, Victoria, Pamela, Michael T., Michael M., Jeff, Gina, Rose, Raymond, Christine, Roxanne, Joy, Beth, Matt, Brian, Wayne, Cynthia, Justin, Bethany, Oana, Jack, Barbara, Richard, Ed, Tanya, Jes, Rodney, Diann, Angie, Dale, Mary Sue, Abhi, Scott, Kathleen, Joyce, Laura, Sarahmaria, Clayton, Larry, Shimpei, Danielle, Donna, Renee, Paul, Bridget, Jason, Beverly, Judy, Rich..and the bevy of dancers not listed--mostly because I dont know you as well just yet (working on that) and cant tag you. Regardless, you are a part of the above-mentioned group and are appreciated, if not tagged. My humblest thanks to all for making last night simply a fun night. And that will always make my part even more enjoyable (well, that and taking pictures with silly faces in them). Chicago is stellar, as is its (is that correct punctuation, Grammar Fairy (aka Allison)?) dance community. With that, I take my leave and head back to my month-long music marathon of Halloween music. Ill hopefully see most of you at the Red Hot & Blue: WCS & Blues Edition event this Saturday. If not there, then next Wednesday at WCW when Alexander Rowe teaches, April plans to spins songs--many of which youll hear at Swing City Chicago next weekend--and well take a group picture as we start an extended dance weekend (More on that early next week).
