You dig deep to erase the names, the stares, the smirks, the trauma from your past. It may have been the actions of a classmate, a teacher, a parent, or another family member whose scars still seem to never fade from your present view. Painful words, words of doubt and discouragement… can haunt us for years. It is no coincidence that we read Paul’s words in the bible with hope as we live in a world filled with faces of a painful past. It is way time to look to the future, putting those pains and hurts into the hands of Jesus, and simply press on toward the goal... Philippians 3: 13-14 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
