You do not have to participate in prayer...and that sort of prayer was perfectly appropriate since it did not promote any specific deity in any way....but you DO have to stand for the Pledge, as it is (1) NOT religious, (2) an OATH of loyalty to this country, (3) as the mayor aptly put, not standing is an insult to those who gave (even their lives) to protect the freedom this other man enjoys so well. You shouldnt get to reap the blessings of America if you wont even stand up for her. I believe MOST of my Atheist friends would be appalled at this particular Atheists behavior. I further, and most importantly believe that we should not take the Atheist in this videos conduct as a reflection of ALL Atheists. Like anything else, it is wrong to stereotype.
