I am listening to The Eagles – Lyin’ Eyes, while I try to add to The Height of Boys before breakfast. The song lyrics have nothing to do with the novel, but The Eagles was very popular when I was in high school. Lyin’ Eyes is my favorite song of The Eagles. It has no personal attachment. I just like the storytelling way of the song and the instrumental background music. It makes me want to sing along and I can concentrate on my novel, a seven-foot-tall high school boy trying to decide his future the summer before his senior year. Basketball was a portal to help get more future education and it was not a possible profession. Should he learn to play basketball, in hopes of getting a college scholarship?
