You do not need to be perfect before worshipping God. Many muslims have the mistaken notion of i sin so much, there is hardly any chance of going to paradise so why bother with good deeds. However Islam is different. It is a journey, a journey to attain the love and acceptance of God. It does not turn away anyone- sinner or righteous. In the Islamic tradition, God is at-Tawwab, the Acceptor of Repentance. You do not need a radical change from today to be a good Muslim. It is more about the Journey to God than actually reaching the pinnacle. While you sin excessively, do not stop doing good deeds. Start with the easiest , most important and best- try praying five times a day and have good manners with people. That one start is enough the rest will soon follow in sha Allah. Make the start.
