You dont have to be an LGBT advocate or a national-democratic activist to be able to understand that the investigation and prosecution of the U.S. serviceman who killed Jennifer Laude could be thwarted by the criminal jurisdiction provisions of the Visiting Forces Agreement. National-democrats and progressive activists unconditionally support Jennifers family and LGBTs because: 1) activists are against all forms of discrimination, especially the worst ones like hate crimes; and 2) activists are concerned that VFA provisions are being used to deny Jennifer the justice she deserves by letting the killer go unpunished under Philippine law. Beware of those who spread the chismis that the VFA is partially or entirely irrelevant, or those who sow intrigues. They are interested more in covering up the roles of the VFA and their pro-VFA patron, and less in fighting for justice for Jennifer.
