You go to a sports forum and all you see is people referring to Gerard as Slippy G, no mention of the interesting times he brought to the game. I think Steven Gerard deserves more respect, especially at his retirement (pretty much). To me, retirement from Football can be equated to death (of course literally)...because like it happens at a funeral, a footballers retirement day is pretty much a day you put aside the negatives and speak well of a player, often fronting his positive attributes and contribution. Certainly for EPL fans, Gerard formed some of the special memories we have. Respect for Gerard, a Liverpool legend and a Premier League Star.
