You gotta love this. In the course of setting up their surveillance state, the government has given over a million people Top Secret clearances. The NSA is more like a Mary Kay Cosmetics franchise than a government agency. "Make money from the comfort of your own home!" Members make $150K a year, drive pink Escalades and receive cool-looking government stickers to put on their laptops. So far only one guy, Edward Snowden, has blown the whistle on this pyramid scheme. But what did they expect when they gave a million people Top Secret clearances? This is the thing that gives the lie to all the scolding Snowden has been getting from our super-serious pundit class. No serious spy agency gives out a million Top Secret clearances. The surveillance state is just another All-American boondoggle.
