You grew up in Anchorage, if you can remember when soda pop cans - TopicsExpress

You grew up in Anchorage, if you can remember when soda pop cans used to be opened with a can opener, with a small, triangular shaped implement. Youd put the opener up against the top of the can, and a lip would secure itself on the upper rim, youd push the implement, and it would create a small, triangular shaped opening along the outer side of the can. Then the soda companies converted their cans to those pull tab lids, that were small. It created a hole , about the size of a peanut shell, for you to drink out of. I think that invention came along in 1968 or 69.
