You guys need to understand that I know nothing about off road. Sure I built a car for the Baja 1000 in 14 days but I copied my RC10 remote control car that I had as a kid and without Strategic Racing Design in Vista, CA and Justin and Heather Herrmann I would have been in trouble. So fast forward to the 1974 Scout II that I bought earlier this year. Its been thru a bunch of U joints and Travis even snapped a driveshaft in half recently. The driveshaft angles look pretty steep and I was like why cant a just tilt the rear differential so it faces the transfer case....and then I read up on driveshaft angles and how if they dont equal each other, they speed up and slow down during each rotation. But on Saturday I was with my dad at this jeep weekend and watched these guys replace a driveshaft and it has a some awesome double U joint thing at the transfer case that I guess people call a CV joint - even though its not what Im used to calling a CV in a BMW. Yeah I know, I dont know trucks at all. But I was like why cant I get one of those and then point my diff right at the transfer case and make this high angle mess go away? AND THEN I FOUND THIS! anythingscout/part/3228-custom-cv-driveline-hd or this one: shopih/DRVSHFT-R.html So I think thats the plan! Am I missing something here? Need to get this thing more reliable so I can go play in baja this winter and actually drive it home. And Ive got the accel pump rebuild kit so I dont have the issue in the video below. But the Scout does like fuel... https://youtube/watch?v=-SMM7Lhkm3Y
