You know, I do most of my bible and theological reading online - TopicsExpress

You know, I do most of my bible and theological reading online now; not that I dont enjoy cracking open a book, but its all the same to me; still the written word, and I am currently studying, although I havent had much time for it lately, the Gnostic Scriptures, along with the Book of Enoch (which is really long, btw); as the Gnostic were the original movement of Christianity which was having the most influence over Constantines Roman Empire, before the consolidation of powers in Rome, and the commission of the Holy Bible, its always good to know the entire history of your faith, especially when based upon a book created to be a weapon to put down a religious movement which told you that the temple of God is within you, seek a personal relationship with the creator within, the kingdom of God is within you; and yet, the teachings of Christ were so embedded in the message, that you could not reject it entirely, or you would have to leave out all of the New Testament. Saul/Paul who established the doctrine of the modern Christian denominations, was a Roman spy, a persecutor of Christians and Jews; of course his testimony and involvement would be useful to the ultimate weapon of control over the masses conceived by the Council of Nicea. Even the modern King James version found in most churches in America are incomplete of the original Holy Bible; the entire book of The Apocrypha (meaning Secret book) was removed by the Puritan movement, so for a book that isnt supposed to have anything added or removed, it sure has gone through a lot of modifications, even since its conception. How can one become knowing or obtain gnosis by only knowing part of the story, I also possess a book of the translation of the Dead Sea Scrolls, which sadly, I have not had time to indulge in yet; enlightenment is always disturbing at first, it goes against the core beliefs instilled in you from childhood, yet at the same time, it confirms your convictions, which brings inner peace; if you look to the sky for heaven, the birds proceed you, the kingdom of God is within.
