You know I have wondered this for a long time, and after reading several more articles in which Southern Officials are trying to suppress minority voter Registration, I have to ask the simple question. Why the hell do American Citizens have to register to vote at all? Why is it not put in place that the moment that an individual gets their Social Security Card that they are already registered? I mean its required that all citizens be registered. You get born at 18 you should automaticly be able to vote, why all the extra hassle with additional registration other than a blatant attempt to repress voting. Why is that if an individual chooses not to vote for x amount of years and then decides to exercise their right as a citizen, that they have to jump through hoops again and re register. The simple truth is this all bureaucratic nonsense that does nothing to further democracy. Especially in a day and age in which it literally possible to verify whether someone is voting somewhere else. Issue everyone a Federal ID free of charge. Go to the voting booth, scan your id, it looks up the information to see whether you have voted already, then pulls up the issues from your area that you can vote on (regardless of where you are) then boom its over and done with. Its past time all this nonsense about whether a citizen that is supposed to be able to vote is able to actually vote or not.
