You know, I was watching one of those ancestor shows where they look up your family tree. One of the folks who they researched was Derek Jeter. Their discovery made me a bit sad. They found out that the Jeter name came from the black side of the familys white master. Along with that discovery came the fact that the master had fathered his great-great grandfather. On the plus side, one of the masters eventually gave his ancestor land and over 2 hundred dollars. These types of historic facts that link the modern day to the past make me feel sad as I said before.
