You know, Ive been around for a while and Ive seen a lot of things. But I think what troubles me most is how mean people have gotten in the last 10 years or so. It has gotten progressively worse as that time has passed. It makes me sad because I can remember a time when we could look past our differences, talk to one another with an open mind and try to find some common ground that would contribute to the betterment of us all. We could laugh at each other because we had learned to laugh at ourselves. We had no difficulty agreeing to disagree and still showing respect for the other person. After all, they were our friends, our neighbors, our leaders. With that attitude in mind, I heard this song on a bike ride the other day and I thought of our current political situation.
